TVS Motor Company launched the TVS Orbiter, its new electric scooter, on August 28, 2025.This scooter is positioned as an affordable, entry-level EV, with an ex-showroom price of ₹99,900.It’s aimed at a broader consumer base looking for a practical and budget-friendly electric two-wheeler.

The TVS Orbiter has a simple, commuter-friendly design.It features a flat, long seat and a spacious footboard.

Battery and Performance: The Orbiter is equipped with a 3.1 kWh

lithium-ion battery pack, which is IP67 rated for dust and water resistance. It has a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range of 158 km on a single charge and a top speed of 68 km/h. The scooter can charge from 0 to 80% in about 4 hours and 10 minutes. It offers two riding modes: Eco and City.

Practicality and Convenience: The scooter includes a large 34-litre underseat storage, which the company claims can fit two helmets.It also has a USB charging port for devices.The digital instrument cluster is fully connected and works with the TVS SmartXonnect app, offering features like geo-fencing, navigation, and safety alerts.

Additional Features: The Orbiter comes with several modern features, including cruise control, hill-hold assist, and a reverse mode.It also has a fall-triggered motor cut-off for added safety.

Dimensions and Underpinnings: It has a 112 kg kerb weight and a ground clearance of 169 mm. The scooter rides on telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. It uses a combination of a front disc and a rear drum brake with a combined braking system (CBS). The Orbiter is available in six different colors.

The TVS Orbiter is a strong contender in the budget EV segment, offering a balance of features, range, and an accessible price point. It faces competition from other scooters like the Ather Rizta, Ola S1X, and Hero Vida V2X.
