The Skoda Kylaq is a big step for Skoda into India’s very competitive sub-4-meter compact SUV market. The Kylaq is marketed as a “made-in-India, for-India” product that combines Skoda’s signature design and engineering with a focus on safety, performance, and practicality.
Size and Design
The Skoda Kylaq has a bold and modern look that uses parts from the brand’s new “Modern Solid” design language. The car has a strong, muscular stance and a glossy black grille that makes it stand out. It also has slim LED headlights. It is a good size for driving in cities and suburbs because it is only 3,995 mm long, 1,783 mm wide, and 1,619 mm high, and it has a high ground clearance of 189 mm. The Kylaq comes in seven bright colors, including the new Olive Gold.
Engine and Performance
The Skoda Kylaq has only one engine option: a 1.0-liter TSI turbocharged gasoline engine. This lively three-cylinder engine is set up to give you 114 bhp of power and 178 Nm of torque, making for a fun and exciting driving experience. You can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the engine.
The Kylaq’s performance is impressive; the manual version can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.5 seconds. The car says it will have a good balance of performance and gas mileage, with an ARAI-certified mileage of up to 19.68 kmpl for the manual and 19.05 kmpl for the automatic.
The inside and the features
Skoda is known for smart design and functionality, and the inside of the Kylaq shows this. The cabin is big and modern, with clean lines and materials that are good for the environment. The car comes with a lot of high-end features, depending on the model. Some of these are:
- A 10-inch touchscreen for entertainment that works with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay without wires.
- A digital instrument cluster for the Virtual Cockpit that is 8 inches wide.
- The front seats can be adjusted in six ways and have vents.
- An electric sunroof with one pane.
- Climate control that works on its own.
- A charger for your phone that doesn’t need a wire.

Skoda’s “Simply Clever” features are also there, like a ticket holder on the windshield, pockets for mobile phones, and a glovebox that stays cool. With the back seats folded down, the Kylaq has a lot of trunk space: 446 liters. This can be increased to 1,265 liters.
Safety
One of the best things about the Skoda Kylaq is how safe it is. The SUV got a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP, which means it offers a lot of protection for people inside. All models come with six airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard safety features. Higher models come with more features, like a rear-view camera with moving guidelines and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

There are different versions of the Skoda Kylaq to meet the needs of many different customers. The Kylaq’s prices range from about ₹8.25 lakh for the base Classic model to ₹13.99 lakh for the top-of-the-line Prestige AT.
