You no longer have to launch an app or tap a screen if a song is playing in a restaurant, retail store, or vehicle, a press of your wrist discreetly recognizes it and displays the name and the artist in the Smart Stack. It’s a matter of a glance it’s as if the feature recognizes the track by magic.
The two new additions causing the most chatter are Live Rewind and Siri Recap. They both are coming later this year in a beta version and they begin with support for English. Live Rewind is in case someone is talking really fast and you look away for a second. Double press the Digital Crown for a few lines of text-based transcript of the last 15 seconds of what was just said. You can ask Siri a question about the part or keep it. The audio buffer is constantly being removed, so the watch is not storing large amounts of dialogue.
Siri Recap is more expansive enabled to churn when users are talking with others, the watch captures ambient listening to produce place-based summaries of conversations that happen all day long. After a meeting or a long conversation, the system from Apple Intelligence generates a topic and key points showing in the Siri app, available via one tap on demand or can be turned on for particular locations or in specific times and all summaries that aren’t saved are deleted after 7 days.
